“Born in Canada, living in London, made in Italy” Dsquared was born out of the passion for fashion of Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten, offering eccentric and never banal styles. In 1992 the twins left the States and moved to Milan. In 1994 they presented a first taste of their creations in Paris, obtaining considerable success. But it was in 1995 that, at Milan’s Collezioni Uomo, their first proper show was held, garnering the approval of many celebrities. The twins’ style is typically street, very north American. After setting out as a menswear brand, they decided to widen their collections and to take on womenswear, presenting their first womenswear collection in 2003. In the same year they opened a fashion store in Milan. Their collections, be it for men or women, always push the limits and mix fabrics, shapes, colours in an unconventional way; the backdrops of their shows are also original and extravagant, each time reinvented with the same, unique denominator of originality.
