Famous NY designer. His collections are influenced by current art and cultural trends. He has an eclectic and versatile personality, with many facets, and this can be felt at his shows, sometimes pushing the boundaries with at times extravagant creations and bright colours, and other times with deliberately understated pieces, even with regards to colours, with very simple lines and fabrics. But for both cases, we can safely say we are dealing with an artist who is never banal and conformist, who is instead able to turn everything he creates into gold.The large maisons know this well and have wanted him as their designer, first among many Perry Ellis; however Jacobs had a troubled relationship with the brand which led to him breaking the collaboration off. It was not the case of the prestigious job offered by Louis Vuitton, of which Marc Jacobs is creative director since 1997 and with which he has a deep and profitable artistic collaboration, giving it a strong and personal modern spirit through his new creations.
